Translating Vaccination Toolkit Resources

Respond collaborated with South Asian Americans Leading Together (SAALT) to translate the “We Can Do This” vaccination toolkit which included information about COVID-19 vaccines. The materials were translated by Respond translators into Bangla, Nepali, Tamil, Arabic, Hindi, and Urdu. They worked on over 20 pages to make information accessible to people who do not speak English.

SAALT is an amazing advocacy organization committed to racial justice through structural change. Their focus is on helping build a South Asian American community with shared values that uplift all people of color, and will cross lines of race, caste, gender, sexuality, and religion to abolish systems of oppression and achieve collective liberation. SAALT is utterly committed to its mission. They even made a donation to Respond so that we can continue providing trauma-informed services to people who are refugees, immigrants and anyone experiencing language barriers.

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a huge impact on communities around the world. In these times of crisis, SAALT and Respond worked together to ensure access to vaccination information for Asian speaking communities. The flyers contained comprehensive information regarding protection for agricultural workers, vaccination for people with disabilities and their caregivers, and strategies for reaching populations with limited access to vaccines, among other topics related to COVID.

We want to thank our amazing translators for their hard work and their commitment to our mission. A warm thank you to SAALT for your donation and your work. We are looking forward to strengthening our partnership bond.
