I am proud to wear many hats: journalist, public speaker, linguist, and social activist. As one of the first Afghans to present English news on television, I’ve been passionate about breaking barriers and building connections through communication. With an MBA and over 15 years of program management experience with organizations like the EU, UNDP, and the World Bank, I bring a wealth of knowledge and dedication to my work. I am also fluent in Dari, Pashto, Farsi, Urdu, English and German.
As a member of the Respond Crisis Translation (RCT) team, I feel honored to contribute to the organization’s mission of providing trauma-informed, efficient, and compassionate interpretation and translation services to migrants and refugees who need them most.

I am incredibly proud of my interpersonal skills, my sociable nature, and my decade-long experience in the humanities. With a good sense of humor and a deep commitment to making a difference, I feel at home in this field of work.
RCT is truly making a transformative impact, especially in the lives of immigrants and refugees in the U.S., by offering critical support in the social, legal, and medical fields. I’d like to highlight the leadership of Uma Mirkhail, the Pashto-Dari team lead, whose professionalism and inspiring spirit drive our team to work with passion and purpose.
For me, my favorite word is “Humanity” , it forms the foundation of everything I do.
