Asylees, Deportees and Refugees Find Life-Saving Work at Respond

By Marie-Ève Monette

Every year, millions of individuals around the world are impacted by violent immigration systems to either gain asylum or refugee status, or get deported.

What happens once they become asylees, refugees, or deportees? How can they build dignified lives in countries that reject their primary language, or back home in the violent and precarious conditions they were fleeing in the first place?

They need and want to work.

Respond works with 382 asylees, refugees, deportees, and other system and financially impacted people, like this translator from the Haitian Kreyòl Team, to guarantee they can earn a dignified wage and support themselves and their loved ones.

When you make a contribution to Respond, you are working with us to pay translators and interpreters the wages they deserve for the critical work that they do while facing impossible conditions.

Please donate and pay a translator or interpreter today
