A look at 2024 Afghan team

I hope your New Year is off to a fantastic start! As we step into 2025, it’s a great opportunity to reflect on our achievements, growth and challenges as a team. Here’s a summary of what we accomplished together in 2024:

  • From January to December 2024, the Afghan team handled a greater number of cases we managed in all of 2023. We worked on a total of 531 cases, translating 675.5 pages and total translated words 139,025. Additionally, we completed 105 minutes of transcription and provided 497.5 hours of interpretation.

  • Notably, 39 cases were completed on an urgent basis, less than 24 hours, and 15 cases resulted in asylum being granted, as informed by the attorneys.

TRANSLATED DOCUMENT TIPES

The translated documents span a wide and diverse range of fields, reflecting the broad spectrum of needs faced by individuals and communities navigating complex systems. These include asylum cases, which often require precise and sensitive handling of personal narratives and legal arguments; materials for conferences that foster international dialogue and collaboration; and humanitarian parole documents, which are critical for urgent cases involving safety and resettlement.

Additionally, our team has translated legal documentation such as affidavits, contracts, and court-related materials, as well as medical records essential for accessing healthcare or supporting legal claims. Academic materials, ranging from research papers to educational resources, have also been part of our work, enabling equitable access to knowledge.

Furthermore, we have translated "Know Your Rights" resources to empower individuals with essential information about their legal and social rights, as well as materials for asylum clinics that support those seeking refuge. These efforts extend to numerous other subject areas, ensuring that language barriers do not impede access to vital information, services, and opportunities. This diverse portfolio highlights the critical role of our translations in addressing the unique and varied needs of those we serve.
