We are looking for a Social Media Volunteer
Respond Crisis Translation is a collective of language activists providing compassionate, effective, and trauma-informed interpretation and translation services for migrants, refugees, and anyone experiencing language barriers. We are looking for an enthusiastic volunteer that can help our team define and implement a strategy for our social media channels.
Responsibilities:
Daily managing, monitoring, and updating of our social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X.
Create engaging, accessible, and relevant content, including graphics, images, and captions, to share Respond’s activities, achievements, and initiatives, in collaboration with the Communications Director and Design Lead.
Answer comments, questions, and DMs to our social media channels. Direct people seeking services or volunteer/employment opportunities to the appropriate Respond links or staff.
Monitor social media channels for trends, news, and conversations relevant to our organization and engage with our audience.
Analyze social media metrics and prepare reports to track the effectiveness of our social media efforts.
Qualifications:
Ideally, professional experience as social media/content manager or similar
Familiar with inclusion and accessibility best practices for social media
Comfortable using Google Drive, other G-Suite Solutions, and Airtable
Preferred experience using Whatsapp
Excellent writing and communication skills in English
Familiarity with various social media platforms and trends, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X
Basic graphic design skills and proficiency in content-creation tools like Canva
Highly organized and detail-oriented
Ability to work collaboratively with distinct teams across the organization, as well as communicate efforts effectively
