Project Manager

Lisa joined Respond as a Russian to English translator in early 2022, after the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, and she has served as a volunteer project manager for the Eastern Europe and Central Asian Languages team since late 2025.  Lisa began studying Russian in the 1980s, and picked up a bit of Ukrainian, Tajik, Latvian (and French) through studies and work in several countries.  After first training as a historian, she shifted and for over ten years managed health programs in humanitarian crises and the international development sector.  In 2026 she is building skills as an English teacher and finding new ways to fulfill her commitment to language learning, community and bridge-building, and expanding access to human rights and protection.
