Danielle Josyle

Haitian Creole Team

Danielle is from Haiti and speaks Haitian Creole, French, Spanish, and English. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Information Technology in Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico.

Her passion for using her talents to support her community led her to start volunteering as a Translator, offering translation services from English to Haitian Creole, Spanish and French. She has worked with multiple organizations over the years including: Objective Sciences International, UN Women, Habitat for Humanity, AmeriCares, Wisconsin Public Health Association, The French Red Cross among others. So far, she has worked with 32 organizations as a Translator and Volunteer.

She joined Respond Crisis Translation in April 2021, and felt that she had found her true purpose and fit. Danielle lends her voice to those who need to understand and express themselves, providing a linguistic platform for people to self-advocate for their own rights.

Danielle translates and interpreters between her native Haitian Creole <> French, Spanish and English. In addition to serving as a Translator, Danielle is also a Leader and Project Manager in Respond. She is currently leading efforts to develop asylum glossaries in Haitian Creole, screening and training new translators, and building out a team of Spanish <> Haitian Creole translators supporting Haitian migrants in Mexico. The Haitian Creole team has provided over 1000 hours of emergency oral interpretation. She plans to continue building capacity to provide translation services to people in need, and hopes that her work will help make the world a better place.
